Post by redbullmarky »

Hi there
I've noticed things are a little quiet recently. Is the project still being developed actively?
cheers

Hi Mark,
yes at present we're not working so much on the project (for lack of time) but we hope to work more in the future.

so i read that you won't continue on yoda soccer...
what about openworldsoccer??? any new developments???
no one wrote a message here since 2007!!!
(except in italian language... and i'm from germany...)
i'd like to continue myself with yoda soccer or help you with ows...
are you still working on one of them???

p.s. in the german language 'quit to os' is called "Zurück zum System" instead of "Züruck zum System" :)

p.s. yoda soccer 0.73 crashes on my pc too (windows xp)
I think it's because of the variable menu_timer at command "WaitTimer(menu_timer:TTimer)" in function "menu_main()" or "menu_...()"

Yes, we're now working on Open World Soccer:

Why do you think so?

When I run the game with blitzmax, after some clicks the game repeats one second of the menu music over and over... and then: when you click on "exit" in one of the menus, the game crashes completely and you get the message

"Unhandled Exception:Attempt to access field or method of Null object"

and in the code "WaitTimer(menu_timer:TTimer)" is highlighted...

but if I turn all lines that use "createtimer" or "waittimer" with the variable menu_timer into comments (or if you delete them) then the problem no longer exists!!!!

AND: the version 0.73 was very slow (on windows) until I saw the line

'SetGraphicsDriver GLMax2DDriver() 'windows version only

and deleted the first ' :D

p.s. what do you need the timer for??? limiting game speed, right?

Thanks for reporting! It's strange because it's the same code as the linux and osx versions.

You've enabled OpenGL. Otherwise DirectX is used.

Yes, and you can comment those lines, because the only animation in menus is the border of the button.

Hi ujpest4ever!

The new version is under development. The goal for the next release is to add heading, tackling and a new AI.
It takes some time because the old code was too messy and has been mostly thrown away.
You can follow the progress by trying the development version, which is available from the code repository.

Saving of tournaments and cups (and a new format for database) will be the next development, but probably it won't get into the next beta.
